One of the things I noticed when I first got into wanting to create my vegetable garden is all the stuff you “need to buy.” I personally came to realize you can create a raised bed on limited funds. If you need smaller containers for planting, and getting your germinated seeds off to a good start, try the dollar store. They have a lot of small containers for great prices, you just need to get creative when it comes to planting pots.
Check the county you live in to see if the compost is free or cheaper. Mine was free for both compost and mulch, but I will be sticking to compost only for my garden bed, and mulch, leaves and sticks on the ground outside the bed once I'm done. I’ve watched several youtube videos and garden blogs over the past week, and the once thing every garden need is compost, as long as it’s loose and no compacted, and WORMS! God had stuff growing before we ever showed up with your ways of doing things, so I’m just going to do my best to keep it simple. Put back in the dirt what grew out of it.
Free free to read about compost from the city for vegetable gardens. I’ve already done my research, and I’m moving forward. If you have something awesome to share about growing your own vegetables, please feel free to share in the comment section below. Also feel to look for Free Soil or Mulch on Craigslist.com.
